BAT-IG Congratulates Professor Taiwo Oyedele on Ministerial Appointment

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group (BAT-IG) warmly congratulates Professor Taiwo Oyedele, popularly known as “the Tax Man,” on his well-deserved appointment as Minister of State, Finance.

BAT-IG notes with great satisfaction that Professor Oyedele has already made remarkable contributions to the economic direction of the present administration in his capacity as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms. Through his leadership, Nigeria’s tax reform agenda has gained traction, structure and renewed momentum, laying a solid foundation for economic stability and sustainable national development.

Even before assuming any elective or appointive high-profile political office, Professor Oyedele distinguished himself as a technocrat and policy expert whose ideas and professional contributions have strengthened fiscal governance and economic planning in Nigeria. His intellectual depth, policy experience and commitment to national development have made him one of the most respected voices in the field of taxation and economic reform.

BAT-IG considers this appointment not only well deserved but also long overdue. We are confident that Professor Oyedele will bring innovative ideas, strategic thinking and measurable value to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His elevation to the Federal Executive Council signals a renewed commitment to reforms that will deepen economic stability and promote inclusive growth.

It is noteworthy that during a meeting between the Convener of BAT-IG, Honourable Bamidele Atoyebi, and Professor Oyedele on January 16, Honourable Atoyebi first expressed his conviction that Professor Oyedele would soon be appointed a minister. In response, Professor Oyedele affirmed that the President had indeed indicated that he should prepare to serve in a ministerial capacity.

This development has now validated that earlier exchange and further strengthened confidence that capable hands are being entrusted with the responsibility of advancing national transformation.

BAT-IG believes Nigerians should look forward to a more robust and stable economy as Professor Oyedele joins the administration in a ministerial capacity. His expertise in fiscal policy and taxation will no doubt strengthen ongoing reforms and enhance the government's economic vision.
