Canadian miner, Abcourt Mines produced 720 oz of gold in the quarter ended June 30, bringing its full-year total to 3,628 oz from the Sleeping Giant mine in Québec's Abitibi region.

The mill processed 11,891 tons of ore during the quarter — a 160% increase from the 7,445 tons processed in the March quarter. June marked a historical peak for the year with 5,229 tons milled.

Underground development reached a record 554 m in the fourth quarter, including 215 m completed in June alone. That compares with 307 m in the prior quarter, representing a 180% increase.

The company has commenced long-hole stope extraction, with a drill rig currently operating in the mine. Gallery rehabilitation also jumped 231% to 1,052 m, compared with 455 m in Q3.

The average grade for the 2026 financial year was 4.18 g/t, but dropped to 2.1 g/t in the fourth quarter — reflecting the processing of lower-grade development zones during the transitional expansion phase.

“This fourth quarter demonstrates the success of our ramp-up phase at Sleeping Giant,” CEO and president Pascal Hamelin stated. “Despite temporarily lower grades this quarter, due to mine plan sequencing, mill efficiency and daily throughput have reached new heights,” he added.

Diamond drilling totalled 11,059 m in Q4, a 155% increase compared with the previous quarter. With more than 11,000 m of drilling and 1,052 m of rehabilitated galleries during the quarter, Hamelin said the company has laid a solid foundation for the upcoming financial year.
