Patriot Resources has mapped rock formations resembling a known copper deposit at a Zambian licence it acquired less than a week earlier.

Field geologists surveyed Licence 33543-HQ-LEL between July 31 and August 3, 2026, days after Patriot secured a 90% stake in the ground on July 29.

The 16.15-square-kilometer licence sits about 12 kilometers north of Mkushi, roughly 17 kilometers from the Fishtie/Kashime copper deposit owned by First Quantum Minerals and Mimosa Resources.

Geologists found a siliceous siltstone unit containing magnetite, ankerite and apatite lenses. That combination of rock types is interpreted as similar to the copper-hosting sequence at Fishtie.

A limestone and dolomite cap was also spotted at a historical small-scale lime mine within the licence, matching the regional geological model.

The company believes the licence covers the southwestern extension of the Lusale Basin mineralized corridor — a satellite zone of the Central African Copperbelt that spans Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Regional magnetic survey data also revealed a low-magnetic shear zone running roughly 3 kilometers long and 700 meters wide, overlapping with the newly mapped siltstones.

Managing Director, Dominic Duggan said the company's technical team, led by chief geologist Eugene Gotora, was on the ground in Mkushi within days of announcing the deal.

"Within days of announcing the acquisition of the Licence, we have mapped what we interpret to be the surface expression of the Fishtie-style mineralisation within our licence," Duggan said. "That is a fast start on ground we acquired for a modest upfront cost, and it sets up a clear pathway to target definition and Phase 1 drilling."

The Mkushi find builds on Patriot's recent copper discovery at its Tonic prospect in the Mumbwa district. Maiden drilling there returned a 17-meter intersection grading 0.41% copper starting at 29 meters downhole, including a higher-grade core of 3 meters at 1.19% copper.

The mineralized trend at Tonic now stretches 5.5 kilometers to the southeast.

Patriot plans a Phase 1 drilling program at the new Mkushi licence during the third quarter of 2026, pending further target definition work.

The company's flagship Tassa silver project in Peru remains in development, with work ongoing to secure a community agreement that would support infill and extension drilling there.

"That is a fast start on ground we acquired for a modest upfront cost," Duggan said.
